BGRIM’s sustainability earns global recognition, ranked among top 10% leaders in S&P Global Yearbook 2023

B.Grimm Power PCL (BGRIM), Thailand’s leading industrial power producer, has set a new record by being admitted to “The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2023” among the top 10% leaders in the electric utilities industry. The entry amplifies BGRIM’s success under the ‘Empowering the World Compassionately’ business philosophy.

BGRIM President Dr. Harald Link pointed out that the company has been aligned with B.Grimm Group’s long-standing practice in Thailand which over the past 145 years has not only achieved business growth but creating value for Thai society. It is the second time in a row that BGRIM is included in the yearbook that again reflects the firm’s relentless commitment to creating positive impacts in the entire spectrums of economy, society and environment. This is in line with BGRIM’s ‘GreenLeap – Global and Green’ strategy announced in 2023 that sees the company striving to develop clean and safe energy, reducing global warming and taking care of the environment sustainably on a pathway to attain the objective of becoming an organisation with Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by the year 2050, he noted.

In the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2023, BGRIM has earned 84 out of 100 marks on the S&P Global ESG score, being among the 10% top-tier electric utility companies around the world. The yearbook contains annual rankings of companies committed to sustainability based on the S&P Global ESG scores which take into account three key considerations environmental, social and governance & economic. Companies that are listed in the yearbook must score in the top 15% of each industry group and scoring within 30% of those with the highest marks in each industry group. Only 708 from more than 7,800 leading companies in the world have made it to the 2023 edition as accredited members with a combined market capitalisation of US$84 trillion.

BGRIM has been regarded highly for its adherence to sustainability, being recognised by national and international sustainability assessors. In addition to the above pride, BGRIM was also selected as a member of the FTSE4Good Index Series, receiving the MSCI ESG Rating at the ‘BBB’ level, obtaining the 2022 Rising Star Sustainability Award, being credited as Thailand Sustainability Investment (THSI) by the Stock Exchange of Thailand for five consecutive years. Furthermore, BGRIM has earned five-star scores in the Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies (CGR) for three consecutive years in the survey conducted by the Thai Institute of Directors Association. It serves as a testament to the company’s dedication to conducting its business in compliance with sustainable development guidelines under good corporate governance.
