PTT aims to drive Café Amazon to become a brand of ASEAN, targeting to raise the number of branches in the region to 400 by 2021.
Mr. Sarun Rungkasiri, Chief Operation Officer, Downstream Petroleum Business Group, PTT Public Company Limited, said that due to changing consuming behavior that seen a growing demand and popularity of coffee consumption among Cambodians including workers and students, PTT seized the opportunity to expand Café Amazon by allowing a master franchise rights to its affiliate PTTCL to retail the coffee chain in Cambodia.
At present, there are 14 Café Amazon outlets in Cambodia operated by PTT and the company has a plan to increase number of branches by another 18 by the end of this year and an addition of another 76 branches within 2021.
In total, PTT planned to have 108 shops of Café Amazon in Cambodia by 2021 and 400 branches in ASEAN by the said year.
Apart from Cambodia, PTT also has Café Amazon coffee chain operated in Laos and is going to exercise the franchise in Myanmar, Japan and Oman in the future.
“This is a remarkable step that would help promote Thai Café Amazon brand to be more well-known to consumers in ASEAN. This expanding effort of Café Amazon will help drive PTT’s business to grow continuously and rapidly and thus to become a successful global brand,” Mr. Sarun said.
